CALL OF THE BELOVED:
Dawn Breakers are members of "the youngest world religion", the Baha'i religion, which was started in the Middle East about a hundred years ago. Sung in Persian (Iranian), this music radiates a simple, pure love, expressed in the voices of a woman and a man, accompanied differently by a choir, a guitar and a flute.
There's a non-sentimental depth of feeling here, culturally - historically - connected to this part of the world. It's understanding of, and tradition for, the musical expression of the many facets of human feeling. Something one also finds in the songs of the great sufi poets.
Good quality recording, but Call of the Beloved is only
on MC 115.-
